WINTHROP YOUTH LACROSSE REGISTRATION - SPRING 2013
This spring we will be taking another step forward as our Winthrop Youth Lacrosse Program will be joining the Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League (MBYLL); The MBYLL promotes the growth of the game of lacrosse throughout Massachusetts by providing leadership, guidance, training and structure to anyone interested in lacrosse. ALL TEAMS BEING ENTERED INTO THIS LEAGUE ARE TO BE ENTERED BY THE END OF DECEMBER SO IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU REGISTER THIS MONTH IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PLAYING. Registration is now open and you can register through the Winthrop Parks and Recreation Department. Players will be placed on teams based on grade and age with the following guidelines:
U 15 - 8th and 7th grades – must be under 15 on January 1st prior to the start of the season
U 13 - 6th and 5th grades - must be under 13 on January 1st prior to the start of the season
U 11 - 4th and 3rd grades - must be under 11 on January 1st prior to the start of the season
U 9 - 1st and 2nd grades - must be under 9 on January 1st prior to the start of the season
*If a player is age eligible to play at the middle or high school level they are encouraged to participate in that program.
Additional Program Information:
· 8 Game Schedule starting in April with all games being played on Sundays
· Practices will be held 2x per week
· Teams will be capped to promote max playing time (We may have two U-11 Teams)
· Registration is $150.00 per player which includes mandatory enrollment in US Lacrosse
· Our goal is to have an all-GIRLS U-11 & U-13 team if the numbers allow
"Winthrop's Night for Newtown"
Sunday, December 23 at the Winthrop Yacht Club from 4pm-7pm. Bring your families as we come together to raise
funds to benefit Newtown, CT. Santa will be making an appearance, there
will be activities for younger kids (hosted by the WHS Student Council
and For Kids Only) and a DJ and caroling for adults brought to you by
Music Matters. There will be tons of raffles and gifts donated by local
businesses. Tickets are $20.00 for adults and children under 18 (must
be accompanied by parents/guardians) are free. Tickets can be purchased
at Christopher's Flowers, Law Office of Chris Tsiotos & Winthrop
School of Performing Arts as of 2pm on Wednesday. Tickets will also be
available at the door.
The High Rollers 100/100 Raffle: Only 100 tickets will be sold for the
chance to win a grand prize of $2500! Tickets are $100. Odds are great
for a chance to win $2500 before Christmas! Tickets can be obtained by

How can you help? Donations of raffle items such as gift certificates,
wine baskets, airline tickets, time shares, sporting events and concerts
would be greatly appreciated. These items may be dropped off at the
Law Office of Chris Tsiotos, 193 Winthrop St, Winthrop.
Proceeds: Proceeds from this event will go directly to Newtown, CT.
Superintendent Macero will be reaching out to the Superintendent in
Newtown to see exactly what she needs. For example, she may need money
to start an after school support group, rehab a classroom in their
replacement building or provide a teacher appreciation. We want to be
as helpful as possible, but unfortunately we won’t know exactly what that
is until the healing process progresses. Winthropites should have
confidence that the Superintendent and Chairman of our trusted Winthrop
charities consisting of the Viking Pride Foundation, Winthrop Charities
and The 11 Foundation will ensure that the money is put to its best

Kathy's Place Youth Center is having a Drop and Shop event this Friday, December 21, 2012 from 6:00-9:00pm!! The cost is $10.00 per child. CAPIC Satellite Site in Winthrop
CAPIC’s Emergency Assistance/Crisis Intervention Program has changed its schedule at the Winthrop Senior Center. Representatives from this program will be available to meet with clients on Fridays from 11am-12pm.
