BULK ITEM STICKER PROGRAM
Town trash disposal is limited to one, two, and three family residences only. Trash disposal from four family (or greater) homes, condominiums, hotels, and businesses is the responsibility of the owner. A bulk item fee has been in effect since September 1, 2006. These items shall include, couches, tables, bureaus, entertainment centers,etc., large mirrors, beds, box springs and mattresses, bicycles, grills, and carpets (tied and bundled in four foot sections). In general, anything that is taller than 23 inches or wider than 36 inches will be considered a bulk item. In order to have a bulk item picked up, a sticker must be purchased and affixed to each item. Stickers are available for $5.00 at
the DPW, 100 Kennedy Drive, during regular office hours and also during Recycling Operations from May through October. Bulk itmes will be picked up on your trash day.
Time to Recycle
Please put your recyclables out on the same day as your trash. Recycling material should be placed separate from household trash.

ALL RECYCLABLES INCLUDING ALL GLASS, METAL CANS, PLASTICS AND ALUMINUM AND PAPER PRODUCTS, INCLUDING NEWSPAPERS, MAGAZINES AND OTHER PAPER IN BROWN PAPER BAGS CAN BE PLACED IN YOUR RECYCLING CONTAINER.
What to Recycle?

What gets picked up?
Town trash disposal is limited to one-, two-, and three-family residences only. The weekly limit is three containers of trash per residential unit, the maximum weight per container is 50 pounds.
What does not get picked up? (PLEASE NOTE CHANGE IN FEES EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2007)
The following are not accepted as trash: Appliances (refrigerators, air conditioners ($35.00) stoves, washers, dryers, air conditioners, hot water tanks, etc. ($25.00) are considered "white goods" and are picked up curbside on the third TUESDAY of every month. Video Games, Automobile Engines and Parts, Rocks, Construction Debris and Materials, Tree Trunks and Limbs, and Hazardous Material (gasoline, explosives, compressed gases, toxic or volatile chemicals, radioactive materials, pathological waste, etc.) are not accepted for trash pick up. Violations are punishable by fine. See Household Hazardous Waste section for information regarding disposal of TV's, CRT's, oils, tires and paint.
Trash pick up is one day late on holiday weeks. The following holidays are observed: New Year's Day, Martin Luther King Day Day, President's Day, Patriot's Day, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Columbus Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.
