Senior Mark Tracy was awarded the National Hispanic Recognition Award as well as the National Merit Scholarship Program Letter of Commendation.

Looking for a great summer plan for incoming K-3 students? Camp Fort is currently accepting registrations. The fun filled program, located at the Gorman Fort Banks School, received rave reviews last summer and they are sure to again. Camp hours are 8:30am-12:30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays for $350.00. For more information please call 617-846-5509. All campers must sign up for the program in its entirety.
Viking Pride Foundation proudly presents “The Final Countdown WHS Goes to Valhalla” on Saturday, June 28th at Winthrop High School. Doors open at 7:00pm. Tickets are available at www.vikingpride.org and can also be purchased at Christopher’s Flowers, Fab’s Liquors, and the Law Office of Christos Tsiotos.
WMS Bullying Awareness Committee is organizing a “WMS School Pride Night” on Thursday, May 29th at 6:00pm. This evening will showcase the Winthrop Middle School Talent Show. Students, staff and community members are working on this special event. Mark your calendars!

6th Annual Winthrop Town Wide Yard Sale

Over 75 yard sales in 1.6 miles! To sign up for the Town Wide Yard Sale or to see the official map, go to www.winthropchamber.com. The last day to register is June 8th. You can also stop by the office at 207 Hagman Rd, or register by phone and pay by credit card at 617-846-9898.
Summer is on its way! Registration is now available for the Summer Park Program which runs from July 1st through August 15th from 8:30am-1:00pm. Cost is $299.00 if registered by June 26th and $319.00 after June 26th. Register online at www.winthroprec.com . The extended day summer program is available as well and runs June 25th through August 29th from 7:30am- 5:30pm. Registration is required at the recreation office but you can download the registration packet from the
website. You can also register for summertime field trips, cheerleading camp, Lego camp, soccer camp, Red Sox games and much more. Call 617-846-8243 for more information.
Winthrop Parks and Recreation introduces NFL Flag Football for children ages 8-14. Program runs from June 1st through July 30th on Wednesday and Sunday evenings~at Ingleside Park.~ Registration is open now at www.winthroprec.com and closes on June 1st. Placement clinic will take place at 4pm on June 1st at Ingleside Park. Child must be registered to participate in placement clinic.~
The program will consists of 3 groups, 14 & under, 12 & under, and 10 & under.~ Games will be played at Ingleside Park on Wednesdays and Sunday between 5pm - 8pm. Cost is $85.00 per player. Winthrop Seaside Striders 5K Foot Race
The Winthrop Seaside Striders have a mission....to promote health and fitness in the Winthrop Community through running and other endurance sports. The race is sponsored by the Point Shirley Athletic Association. All proceeds are donated to Winthrop Parks & Recreation.
