Last week the Senior Center held a Volunteer Luncheon for all its volunteers. There are approximately 60 people that volunteer their time on a regular basis. Without their help, the Senior Center would not be able to offer the programs and activities that they do. Volunteers are important, and essential in making the Senior Center as active as possible. The event had two guest speakers – Town Council President Jeff Turco and Harbormaster Chuckie Famolare.

The new computer lab at the Senior Center is up and running.  Lots of time and effort went into this endeavor. The first six-week course started last week. The Senior Center is thrilled to be able to offer this course and help to get seniors computer literate!

Police Chief Terence Delehanty and three of his officers were invited to visit the preschool classes at the Fort Banks Elementary School last Tuesday.  This visit gave the preschoolers a chance to meet members of the Police Department and hear what they do.  The visit also included Silly Willy the Clown, who along with the students, was able to see the inside of a police cruiser and activate the sirens.
