NOTICE OF CHANGES FOR VOTING
The following changes will be in effect beginning January 1, 2012.
Precincts 3, 4 & 6 will now vote at the
Winthrop Senior Center located on Harvard Street.
Pursuant to Massachusetts General Law, chapter 54, section 6, the Town of Winthrop has changed voting precincts to reflect population changes as calculated by the most recent federal census. These changes are reflective of the new maps drawn by the State. The following is a listing of streets that have been changed. Your voting precinct and polling location can be found on the front page of your enclosed annual census form in the box at top left corner. See sample below.

The next election is the Presidential Primary on Tuesday, March 6, 2012.
2012 DOG LICENSING
Dog licensing will now be done by calendar year. If your dog currently has a 2011 tag, you will not need to purchase another tag until November of 2012, and a new tag must be purchased before January 1, 2013 to avoid ticketing which will begin March 1, 2013. Licenses will be available for the 2013 season in November of 2012. This office strongly suggests that all households familiarize yourself with the
Ordinances related to Dogs, these laws are mandated by the State.
Parks and Recreation is offering two programs beginning this week:
WINTER BASKETBALL – 8 week program begins on Saturday, January 7th at the Middle school gymnasium. Boys in Grades K-1 from 9:00am –10:15am, Girls in Grades K-1 from 10:15am- 11:30am and Boys and Girls in grades 2, 3, & 4 from 12:00pm –1:15pm. Program fee is $95.00.
KNUCKLE BONES ATHLETIC GAMES – Children ages 2-4 join us for this 6 week program on Saturdays from 1:30pm – 2:30pm at the Middle school gymnasium beginning January 7th. This program teaches children the fundamentals of sports, builds confidence and develops a passion for athletics and fitness while having fun. Cost is $85.00.
There will be a free informal networking meeting on Friday, January 6th at 7:00pm at the E.B. Newton Cultural Center. This is open to everyone, so bring a friend or two, your other half or a co-worker. No children please. If you have business cards or marketing materials, please bring those. Light refreshments will be served. Going forward, there will be a meeting on the first Friday of each month.

Come enjoy a hot beverage and some great refreshments, and either sit back and enjoy the show, or get up on stage and show off your own talents!
Open to all ages and performance styles- music, poetry, dance, comedy, etc. Bring friends and take this opportunity to check out our new-and-improved lounge area!

MyRWA invites you to the first-ever Polar Plunge, featuring Association staff, volunteers and others to be recruited, to dive into the Mystic River as the kickoff for MyRWA's 40th Anniversary year - a year to celebrate and promote the recreational opportunities of the Mystic as well as the water quality testing and environmental policy efforts that MyRWA has led over its forty year history.
Come take the plunge or cheer the swimmers on! Hot drinks will be served.
