Chamber Tall Ships Cruise July 2
Tickets are on sale now from the Winthrop Chamber of Commerce for its Tall Ships Cruise.~ The narrated sightseeing tour will be Monday, July 2 leaving from the Town Pier at the Public Landing.~ Boarding is at 6:15 p.m., returning at 9:00 p.m.
Tall Ships and naval vessels from across the world are coming to commemorate the bicentennial of the War of 1812, the historic role played by the US Navy and our very own USS Constitution in the conflict, and the composing of our national anthem – “The Star Spangled Banner”.
This will be a tribute for the history books. More than 30 U.S. and international naval vessels, crewed by over 5,000 uniformed sailors, will be seen in and around Boston Harbor during the celebration.
A fleet of international Tall Ships, including Cisne Bronco from Brazil, Gloria from Columbia, Ecuador’s Guayas, Indonesia’s Dawaruci, and US Coast Guard’s Eagle, will also be in attendance.
The Chamber of Commerce is putting on a cruise leaving from Winthrop onboard the Revolution.~ Tickets are $50 per person (does not include food).~ This is an excellent opportunity to get up close to the many visiting ships berthed throughout the harbor. All are invited: call 617-846-9898 or stop by the office at 207 Hagman Road for tickets.
