Due to the weather forecast for this evening, tonight’s French Square Market has been cancelled.
Congratulations to the Winthrop Police Explorers! Last weekend the Explorers attended the bi-annual National Police Explorers conference in Colorado. They were named third best Explorer unit in the country and returned home with a trophy. They competed against 3,000 explorers from all over the country. Great job!

Join The Winthrop Playmakers as Professor Harold Hill marches into town August 2-12.~ Director/Choreographer Erin Huelskamp and Musical Director Julia Scott Carey lead a cast of more than 30 in the Playmakers presentation of this classic musical. The Music Man is the story of Harold Hill, a footloose con man who sets out to take advantage of the citizens of a small, turn-of-the-century Iowa town, but who instead is captivated and morally transformed by the townsfolk. Along the way, he falls in love with the town's lovely librarian and inspires all with the joy of music. The Music Man won an Oscar for Best Music in 1963, featuring such well-known songs as "76 Trombones," "Ya Got Trouble," and "Goodnight Ladies."

The monthly informal networking event will be held Friday, August 3rd from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the E.B. Newton Cultural Center on the 1st floor. ~This event is free and open to everyone, so bring a friend or two, your other half or a co-worker. ~You don’t have to be from Winthrop. ~Please no children. ~If you have business cards or marketing materials, please bring those. ~Light refreshments will be served.
Take the Winthrop Ferry to Spectacle Island this weekend!
This Sunday, July 29th enjoy Jazz on the Porch with Guitarist David Ehle.
Relax on the Spectacle Island porch to the sounds of big bands, folk music, swing, and jazz ensembles. Music starts at 12:00 pm.
The Winthrop Ferry leaves the Town Landing for Spectacle Island at 10am, 1pm, and 3pm every Saturday and Sunday. It returns to Winthrop from Spectacle Island at 10:30am, 1:30pm, and 3:30pm –
