Congratulations to Officer Dawne Armistead on receiving a certificate of Special Recognition by the Massachusetts Association of Women in Law Enforcement.  They received a nomination on Dawne’s behalf for the Spirit of MAWLE Award.  The Award Committee had a difficult assignment in narrowing the field of so many worthy nominees.   They selected award recipients in the area of Leadership, Mentoring Community Service, Courage, and Excellence in Performance.  Due to the overwhelming outstanding nominations they also selected women to receive certificates of Special Recognition.  The Award Committee selected Dawne to receive this certificate.  Congratulations!

Winthrop Fireworks

Winthrop is gearing up for another exciting Fireworks display on the 4th of July.  The 4th of July is about bringing the community together and enjoying summer activities while connecting with others from the community or with those visiting. I am excited to continue the long tradition in Winthrop of bringing families, friends and neighbors together.

The Fireworks display would not be possible without our sponsors, donors and supportive residents.  I hope you will consider making a donation in support of the 4th of July Fireworks.  I know there are many demands on your kindness, but I hope you will consider my request and help make this year’s festivities a well-organized summer celebration for the Town of Winthrop

One hundred percent of the expenses for the Fireworks display depend on donations.  Whatever your budget may be, please know that your efforts are appreciated by the volunteers of the Fireworks Committee, and by the residents who look forward each year to connecting with friends and neighbors at this important annual celebration.  On behalf of the entire committee, I appreciate your consideration of becoming a partner in making this year’s festivities a success.
Thank you for your generosity.
Checks can be mailed to:
