The Winthrop Parks and Recreation Department recognizes that there is a universal growing public awareness relative to the benefits of recreation. Our wide variety of programs are designed to improve the quality of life for local residents of all ages by meeting social, educational, cultural and physical needs. The staff and volunteers are eager to provide a well-rounded quality program for the community and welcome your suggestions for new programs, talents to share, time to volunteer and any and all others ideas which will improve our overall program. Please contact us at 617 846-8243 with your suggestions.
The goal of the recreation department is to provide affordable, self-sustaining programs that offer participants a variety of opportunities for passive and active recreation. Through play, education, and community-wide special events we grow as individuals and as a community.
