The cover: Winthrop Town Hall located at One Metcalf Square, the corners of Hermon and Pauline Street. The building was erected in 1928. Outside the Town Hall’s front doors, a commemorative plaque reads, Building Committee: Joshua Remby, Chairman; Elmer E. Dawson, Secretary; Frank N. Belcher, George J. Buchanan and Timothy J. Mahaney; General Contractor: A. Piotti Co.; Willard M. Bacon, Architect and Engineer. There are many departments that operate out of the Town Hall: Revenue Collections, Assessing, Board of Health, Town Clerk, Building/Inspectional Services, MIS, Treasurer, Town Accountant, Retirement, Veterans Services, Town Attorney, Town Manager, and soon, the Town Council.
