Water transit service by the Winthrop Ferry Valkyrie is set to resume a normal operating schedule on Monday, August 12th.
The Winthrop Ferry was recently out of service due to an engine failure. The engine was replaced and the vessel and is now fully operational. The Winthrop Ferry has been inspected and certified by the US Coast Guard and is cleared to resume water transit services.
The Winthrop Ferry is a 53 ft. diesel powered catamaran style ferry certified to carry 74 passengers. The ferry operates between the Winthrop Public Landing, Marina Bay in Quincy, the Seaport district, the Financial District/Aquarium and Spectacle Island.
